Our story, our purpose, and the people who make it happen every day.
The Success Haven School was founded with a clear and compelling mission: to bring quality education within reach of every child in the Lower Yatta region of Kitui County. What started as a vision in the heart of our founder, Mr. Benson M. Katiku, has grown into one of the most trusted schools in the area.
The school opened its doors in 2019, welcoming its first cohort of eager young learners. Despite starting modestly, the school's commitment to excellence quickly earned the trust of parents across Nthongoni, Kwa Vonza, and neighbouring communities.
Today, The Success Haven School stands as a thriving institution — with modern classrooms, equipped dormitories, a school bus, and a passionate team of CBC-trained educators. We have grown because families trust us with what matters most: their children.
The Success Haven School officially opens its doors in Nthongoni, Lower Yatta, welcoming its first class of learners from Play Group to Grade 3.
The school seamlessly transitions to the Competency Based Curriculum, training all staff and redesigning its programmes around CBC principles.
The school acquires its first dedicated school bus, extending access to learners from distant villages, and expands classroom capacity to accommodate growing enrolment.
Purpose-built dormitory facilities are commissioned, making Success Haven one of the few schools in Lower Yatta offering safe and affordable boarding.
The school expands to include Junior Secondary (Grades 7–9), introducing CBC pathways in STEM, Social Sciences, and Arts & Sports Sciences.
Today, Success Haven serves over 200 learners and continues to invest in facilities, staff development, and community partnerships to deepen its impact.
"To be a leading centre of excellence nurturing competent, innovative, and responsible learners for a dynamic global society."
"To provide quality Competency Based Education in a nurturing environment that promotes academic excellence, integrity, creativity, innovation, and lifelong learning."
We are a Christian school grounded in the belief that education must form the whole person — intellectually, morally, socially, and spiritually — for lasting impact.
We uphold honesty, transparency, and ethical conduct in every aspect of school life — teaching learners to do what is right even when no one is watching.
We hold ourselves and our learners to the highest standards — not to compete, but to help every child realise their full, God-given potential.
We foster a culture of mutual respect — for one another, for the environment, and for the diverse backgrounds and abilities each learner brings.
We encourage creative thinking, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial spirit — preparing learners for a world that values adaptability and fresh ideas.
We build learners who take ownership of their actions, their learning, and their communities — knowing that true success includes serving others.
We are proud members of the Nthongoni community and partner with families to ensure every child's home and school environments work in harmony.
Our staff are the backbone of Success Haven — trained professionals who go above and beyond to see every learner thrive.
